WRITING TOGETHER
A Community Writing Practice

In this popular series, Molly applies multi-layered writing prompts as springboards to unleash participants’ imaginations and authentic voices, helping them find creative flow while building a vigorous and sustainable writing practice in community with others. Writings are shared in an atmosphere of trust and deep listening. As part of her signature methodology, Molly draws on many sources of inspiration such as poems, essays, short stories, photographs, and excerpts from novels. You will naturally explore the building blocks of good storytelling and plant seeds that might grow into fuller, more developed pieces. There are no writing assignments outside of class.

This ONLINE series is open to writers of all levels.

THE EKPHRASTIC EYE:
Photography and Creative Writing

Winter 2026 Creative Writing Series

How can a photograph provide points of entry for a writer? How does appreciation of the visual through shared deceleration and refined attention deepen our objective understanding and personal connection to a photograph? How might it inspire and enhance our creative writing?

In this series, we will explore ekphrasis — the literary art of vivid description of visual images — devoting each week to the deep study of a photograph (drawing from our own and those in the public domain) and in-class writing exercises.

Optional weekly writing assignment submissions. Great class for writers interested in strengthening their creative imagination through visual stimulation.

6-week ONLINE course. Limited class size.
