KITCHEN STORIES SPECIAL!
A Writing Workshop on Food and Connection

Remember the way your grandmother's hands moved through bread dough, how she never needed measuring cups? Or the first time you cooked for someone you loved, nervous and hopeful in equal measure?

This is an intimate two-hour exploration of food as our most ancient language of care. In this hands-on workshop, we'll move beyond recipes to uncover the deeper stories that live in our kitchens – the inherited wisdom, the quiet rituals, the unspoken ways we say "I love you" through a perfectly timed cup of coffee or a bowl of soup on a sick day. Drawing from masterful examples in fiction and nonfiction, we'll explore how writers have captured the profound connections between food and intimacy throughout literature.

Through guided personal reflection, you'll have the opportunity to delve into your own food memories and examine their lasting impact on your relationships, discovering the threads that connect your culinary past to your present connections. Bring your stories and your willingness to explore the tender intersections of food and love.

This workshop is part of Write Around the World, a fundraiser supporting Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA). It's a wonderful opportunity to experience the renowned AWA method while contributing to a great cause.

Limited number of participants to foster meaningful discussion and personal attention.

PAPER, PEN & EXPRESSIVE ARTS: Crafting Epistolary Intimacy 2025!
with Weekly Assignments

When was the last time you wrote something too intimate to send? Or sent something that changed everything? Or discovered a box of old letters that revealed an entire life you never knew about?

Enter the transformative world of epistolary writing. Letters, diaries, emails, and hybrid forms become portals of possibility, collapsing time and distance through the power of direct address. Here, you'll speak secrets, reveal truths, and build emotional bridges impossible in any other form.

Drawing from masterful examples, you'll push creative boundaries while developing your distinct voice. Weekly sessions merge writing with expressive arts—collage, calligraphy, photography, painting, etc—to illuminate your stories in unexpected ways. No art experience needed.

Join this workshop to transform your writing through the intimate art of the epistolary. Limited to 6 participants.

Two 6-week ONLINE series beginning in March. (DATES TBA)

WRITING TOGETHER LIVE!
2025

A Community Writing Practice

In this popular series, Molly applies multi-layered writing prompts as springboards to unleash participants’ imaginations and authentic voices, helping them find creative flow while building a vigorous and sustainable writing practice in community with others. Writings are shared in an atmosphere of trust and deep listening. As part of her signature methodology, Molly draws on many sources of inspiration such as poems, essays, short stories, photographs, and excerpts from novels. You will naturally explore the building blocks of good storytelling and plant seeds that might grow into fuller, more developed pieces. There are no writing assignments outside of class.

This series is open to writers of all levels.

5-week IN-PERSON series.
Dates TBA

Molly’s style and presence is always fused with passion, imagination, commitment and humor. I appreciate both her solid planning and her willingness to take flight and move in a new direction if need be.
